I commuted on Thunder this morning. My legs hurt.
The worst part of it is that I have to ride back home later too. I’m either going to throw up, walk Thunder most of the way, or kick Joey’s butt and be so awesome he’ll not know what whizzed by him.
I think it’s more likely to be a combination of the first two…option 3 doesn’t seem viable for a month at least.
In any case, I made it. I’m here. I didn’t die. We probably used more gas yesterday trying to nail down our route than we saved by riding in today.
But I proved it to myself – I can commute on my bike with Joey…and gas hasn’t even made it up to $5/gallon. Now, when it does, we are prepared.
Actually, I preferred biking in with Joey in the morning. I’m not a big fan of the gym (gotta get up at 5:15 to make it…earlier sometimes) because I don’t get to talk to him the whole time we’re there. It’s torture: knowing I’m in the same space as Joey but not being able to speak with him. Blech. There’s always a bajillion things to say in the morning, too, because I just spent 8 hours not speaking. (Gotta use up all my words!) But on Thunder whizzing down the Katy Trail at 6:25 a.m.? No problem…
The goal is to do this 3-4 times a week. Hopefully we can be awesome and I can gain some serious leg muscleage so I can keep up with that speed demon who is also known as Joey.

Nice writing style. I look forward to reading more in the future.
