A series of unrelated things

A series of unrelated things

I have my last appointment with my hand surgeon today at 4:15. I am excited about this for several reasons:

  1. I really, really want to ride Thunder again.
  2. I am in the middle of a delicious book, and waiting in the doctor’s office provides me with ample time to read and yet not feel guilty about it
  3. On top of making dinner, I’m baking coffee cake muffins and crostini and throwing together a large salad tonight. (We’re having dinner with friends tomorrow night and I’m in charge of appetizers and salad.)

So here’s to hoping that my doctor’s appointment is speedycakes so I can do some major work in my kitchen tonight before I have to run back down to DTS to pick Joey up from Hebrew, which ends at 6:30.  Sometimes we think it would be nice to have two cars again…but then we remember how amazingly cheap it is to have one (paid off even!) riceburner for a car and we shake our heads and ask ourselves what we were thinking.

Henry gets all bent out of shape when I show up earlier than normal, though.  It interrupts his napping cycle and throws off his groove…what I wouldn’t give to be a dog!  (You should see him on the weekends.  On Saturdays he gets positively cranky due to nap interruption.  Brat.)

On a totally unrelated note, I’m trying to get Joey to buy me one of these.  (I need a British Blue right now, Joey.  Immediately.  Or I will die and then who will feed you or fold your socks?! )

And look how fancy they look when they’re all grown up?  Seriously, how can you resist that?

About jennawoestman

Joey is my best friend. We welcomed our miracle baby, Analie Alexa on November 23, 2010. She was 7 lbs of cuteness and we are so thankful for her. We lost our first baby (who we symbolically named Samuel) the summer of 2009. I love being a Christian, even when it's hard. I've tried IVF. Twice. It worked. Once. That's how we got Analie. I'm always willing to talk about infertility. Diagnosis: Stage 4 Endometriosis (plus a few other bonus things) I'm live in Indiana. I enjoy reading and going for walks in the evening. I get my news from NPR. Someday I want to be a guest on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. I love backpacking, hiking, canoeing and survival camping. I'm a big fan of weekends. My bike's name is Thunder. I'm a youth pastor's wife. I dig cows. I don't handle stress well. I'm not good at fishing; I talk too much. Cooking and baking are my favorite. I love hanging out with my girlfriends! I'm a budding environmentalista. I love me my Joey. Texas is where we "came of age". I enjoy seeing animals and want my very own Alpaca. And Koala. And Panda. Conservation is beautiful. I'm a neat freak. I like all-natural, chemical-free, environmentally-friendly products. Green is my favorite color. Still.

  1. I’ll kitteh sit for you if you get one.
    They’re amazing.

  2. The only thing worse than indoor dogs (note I said “indoor dogs” – I love dogs – but I like them outside in the backyard) are cats. I really might have to re-consider our friendship if you get a cat and Henry continues to jump on me. Although, if you MUST get a cat – those do like a prettier version of the species!

  3. I almost burst out with a spontaneous “AWWWW!” at my desk. Those putty tats make me miss the Russian blue my father had when I was growing up, Jasmine. *sniff* I miss having a cat!!

  4. Kitties!!! You should totally get one … and if you ever go out of town, we’ll totally watch ‘em for you! :-)

  5. If you get a cat, I will disown you. Doug Laird is my father. The End.

  6. Hey Girl!! I want one too!! I will be so excited for you if get one and I will have to come over and play with it :) Miss you!

  7. NEED or WANT? Last I heard you NEEDED a bunny rabbit? Although a kitty would be better than a rabbit.
