Things I’ve bought recently that make me say “I LOVE IT” after I use them…
1. Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo & Conditioner
I have the world’s most sensitive/weird scalp. And I’ve tried everything.
I shared this fact with my hair stylist, as if she couldn’t already tell, and after three months of attempted conversion, she finally won me over. I walked out of the salon feeling much poorer, but a week later my scalp was singing the praises of this shampoo and conditioner.
(If only I had discovered it when I was in eighth grade, maybe I wouldn’t have pulled out so much hair that I gave myself a bald spot…and the hair never grew back in the same way, either.)
2. Clean Mist candle
I love candles. I especially love Slatkin candles from Bath and Body works.
We think Downstairs Neighbor has a nicotine addiction, and occasionally we smell icky ciggy smells in our kitchen and bathroom, so over the past few months I have stocked up on candles, Wallflowers, and room spray.
Can’t stand the cig smell. No sirree Bob.
Anyway, Clean Mist smells great, and I scored it at 50% off last week.
3. HEPA filter for my vacuum cleaner
I know, boring – right?
WRONG.
My vacuum cleaner kept smelling like something crawled up in there and died, and it’s bagless so I knew that if that had actually happened, I’d be able to see whatever it was that had perished. I checked.
Last weekend I took my vacuum apart and washed out all the parts with soap and water (because you can do that with bagless vacuum cleaners!) and realized the awful smell was coming from my HEPA filter…that was over a year old and full of shady dust and creepers.
I replaced it and my vacuum smells amazing now. So does my house, and we all know how Jenna loves a good-smelling house.
4. Custom Drawer Organizers
The kitchen utensil junk drawer? No longer a junk drawer. I bought these puppies two weekends ago, brought them home, immediately sized them exactly the way I wanted them and installed them in my drawers. My two embarrassing kitchen drawers now look fabulous, AND I can find exactly what I want the moment I open the drawer.

I had been wanting to do this for months, but since I thought we were going to have to move I had put it off. Anyway, SO glad I did it. Finally.
