Guess who needs to go on a diet?  (Gosh, besides me.)

HENRY!

The vet said yesterday that, “there is a layer of fat here, and his waist isn’t as well defined as it should be.”

At first I thought she was talking about me, but then I remembered that she used the masculine pronoun and was examining Henry at the time.

So Buddy’s going on a doggy diet.  He’s getting less food and more exercise.

Maybe I should take the vet’s advise myself?

About jennawoestman

Joey is my best friend. We welcomed our miracle baby, Analie Alexa on November 23, 2010. She was 7 lbs of cuteness and we are so thankful for her. We lost our first baby (who we symbolically named Samuel) the summer of 2009. I love being a Christian, even when it's hard. I've tried IVF. Twice. It worked. Once. That's how we got Analie. I'm always willing to talk about infertility. Diagnosis: Stage 4 Endometriosis (plus a few other bonus things) I'm live in Indiana. I enjoy reading and going for walks in the evening. I get my news from NPR. Someday I want to be a guest on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. I love backpacking, hiking, canoeing and survival camping. I'm a big fan of weekends. My bike's name is Thunder. I'm a youth pastor's wife. I dig cows. I don't handle stress well. I'm not good at fishing; I talk too much. Cooking and baking are my favorite. I love hanging out with my girlfriends! I'm a budding environmentalista. I love me my Joey. Texas is where we "came of age". I enjoy seeing animals and want my very own Alpaca. And Koala. And Panda. Conservation is beautiful. I'm a neat freak. I like all-natural, chemical-free, environmentally-friendly products. Green is my favorite color. Still.

  1. Green Beans!!! Unless you know of any food allergies he may have, substitute half of his food with low sodium green beans. Just mix it all together. Guapo LOVES it and he lost all of the baby weight (because yes, everyone in my family gained baby weight!) he put on in a matter of a couple of months.

I can’t tell you how gangbusters he goes when he sees us pulling out a can to mix with his food.

  2. Guillermo’s been on a doggy diet for most of the past year. He’s lost 30 lbs. and needs a little over 10 more pounds to be within acceptable weight limits for his breed (he was 122 when we first took him to the vet last… May, I think, he was 92 when we took him to the vet Wednesday). We had to cut him way down on food and give him special (expensive) diet food for the first couple of months. Now he’s on regular food again.
