Ever since I saw that skunk at the Gaylord Texan, I have pretty much wanted one, much to Joey’s dismay.  The little guy looked so soft and floofy.

Anyway, today on www.icanhascheezburger.com, one of the posts was this picture:

funny-pictures-your-cats-are-really-skunksI was immediately amazed and, of course, googled “pet skunk”.

Turns out, people have skunks for pets.

They get the stinker part taken out when the skunk babeh is about 4 weeks old or suchlike, then they are happy and able to be domesticated.

I do not see why I can’t have a pet skunk.  (Well, aside from the fact it’s illegal in Texas…but it IS legal in Iowa.)  You can spay and neuter them, and even declaw them if you so desire.

If I had a pet skunk, he’d be brothers with Henry and I’d walk them both in the evenings.
