Since Joey’s in his last year of Seminary, we are gussying up his resume so that he can get hired. (Hopefully. Someday.) The material we received from DTS advised that we put pictures of ourselves in said resume.
I assume this is so the people who look at it feel all warm and fuzzy inside because we look like such nice people.
These are supposed to be professional-looking shots, preferably full-body…and they recommend that you wear sleeves. (!??!) After much thought about the sleeve thing, I decided it’s so that those of us with blubbery arms (and I’m raising my hand here) don’t wreck the picture, and arm blubber is probably really distracting when it comes right down to it.

Well, about 6:00 last evening Joey decided to start looking through iPhoto to see what we have on tap. After 15 minutes of searching, we realized that we have basically no pictures of us together at all…because Joey is always the one taking the pictures.
“Um, like, would it stress you out if we did a picture now?” Joey asked.
I glanced down at myself. I was not exactly looking photographic-quality because we had recently woken up from a 2 hour nap, and at the moment I was in the midst of making applesauce.

“I need a few minutes,” I said.
“Don’t forget to pick something to wear that has sleeves,” Joey said.
We rushed around, throwing things out of the closet until there was a pile on the bed that looked like the Mt. St. Helens of Joey and Jenna’s Closet. Finally we were dressed and I was powdering my nose and twisting my rather hopeless hair into a poofy thinger on the side of my head. (I had nap hair, and it quickly became apparent that the poofy thinger was my only option for a hairstyle.)

Joey ran outside to set up the tripod. IN THE RAIN. Did I mention that it has been raining for about 48 hours? Well, it is and it has.
Thirty minutes and about 130 pictures later, we were back inside, not too much the worse for the wear. Despite the rain, we got what I feel like are some pretty good pictures…when you consider the subjects, that Joey gave me 10 minutes notice, we took it ourselves, and the fact that it was raining outside.
That is a nice long-sleeved shirt…it would work wonderfully for a Christmas card photo…black, shirred for a little “formality” and that little ribbon around the neck…it’s pefect!
