Well, the first 24 hour period has almost passed.  About the only difference I’ve noticed is a really dull throb in my lower back that’s pretty constant, and occasional stabbing pains in my sides, about where my hip bones are.  I assume this is my poor little ovaries being like, HEY!  We live here too! What do you think you are you doing to us?!

But more than occasional pain, I’ve noticed that Joey and I are both on edge.  Fortunately we’re not being edgy with each other, mostly with people we don’t know that tick us off.  I think it’s the combination of all this pressure at once kind of squishing down on us.  Observe:

This morning, we rode our bikes around for a little while.  I really shouldn’t have even done that because Dr. Babyplease said I could go on walks and that was it, but I didn’t get to ride Thunder yesterday morning like we planned and I was dying for one last (hopefully) good bike ride.  So we jumped on and rode off.

We had to go to Target to get something and Target doesn’t have bike racks.  So we decided to just take them in with us, considering they’re smaller than a shopping cart.  I’ve done this oodles of times.  Anyway, there we are standing in the toilet paper aisle when the store boss came up to us, he was completely filled with grouchy, and was all, you can’t bring bikes in here you need to leave right now.

He was so brusque about it that Joey and I just kind of looked at him like are you serious? but YES, Dude was SERIOUS.  We weren’t really moving, so he repeated himself.

Joey said, “Well, there aren’t any bike racks outside.  Where are we supposed to put our bikes?”

And Dude said, “Yes there are.  They are outside”

I raised my eyebrows at him in the dangerous way that I do right before totally exploding, and was really close to spouting off when Joey said something else to the guy.  I don’t remember what. I could tell by Joey’s tone of voice that he was really, really annoyed too.

Dude reminded us we needed to leave right away.  (I think our bikes might have been carrying Swine Flu or something.)

So I said, “We are GOING,” and we tick tick tick ticked past him with our bikes and carrying a 12 pack of toilet paper.

“Thank you,” Dude sassed us as we walked past him.  Neither Joey or I said anything to him in reply, neither did we look at him.

Joey was boiling.

I was pretty annoyed too.

And it was so not a big deal – under normal circumstances I can tell you we would not have been as mad at the guy as we were.

Once we got out of Target without being forcibly removed, Joey instructed me to ride around the entire circumference of Target to confirm that there were no bike racks.  I did so.  There are no bike racks on the Target property, Internet.  None.  Zero.  I felt like pushing Thunder right back inside and telling Dude that, but I didn’t want to get arrested.

So instead, I rode over to 7-11 where Joey was buying a paper, and I reported my findings.  He gruffed around a bit about how annoyed he was at the Dude, and then we rode our bikes home.

As I said, normally this would not flip us out like it did.

Oh, I just can’t wait to see how we do tomorrow.

ummm…yeah, I’m gonna need you to tell me which Target that was, because I’m about to unleash a wrath on that Manager like he’s never seen. No joke. I have my form letter pulled up on Word and ready to fill in and send to corporate. Oooh buddy, do I hate poor customer service and I hate it even more when it comes from the “manager.” Glad you were still able to get your toilet paper!
