Go To Jail.  Do Not Pass My Pops, Do Not Collect $200.

(I should mention that in the 25 seconds it took to get this picture, I acquired enough fire ants to bite me all over my torso and right foot.  I now look like I have the chicken pox.)

I was driving around down town when I glanced in my rearview mirror.  I saw this:

It was like the sign was mysteriously hovering in traffic behind me.

I was amazed.

Joey and I drove up to Ikea yesterday.  Two things, and only two!, were on our list:

• a magazine rack/holder/thingy
• a DVD shelf

We made a pact before we went in that we would not buy anything other than the two things we had planned.  There were several temptations, but we resisted.

Joey’s doing a video project for DTS and so we spent a good long time looking at the couches, trying to see if one was “just right”.  On the blue couch that I liked particularly well, I was surprised to find The Mysterious Sign!

We had to go to Wal-Mart today, something we rarely do.  Joey and I kind of try to stay out of Wal-Mart, mostly because they’re all so far away and the ones in Dallas are really…sketch.

Well, they built a new Wally World sorta close to us, so we went to check it out this morning.  And…and what do you think we saw?!

After Pops’ loyalty to Wal-Mart all these years, it seems they’re finally paying it forward.  Several observations:

• Pops is obviously “unbeatable”, Wal-Mart got it right there.
• The dollar amount fell off this sign, so it’s ambiguous how much Pops costs at Wal-Mart, but whatever the dollar amount is it’ll end with 88 cents.

Hmm.  Seems like this mysterious sign has a mind of its own…I intend to keep my eyes open for where it will pop up next.
